On June 30, tucked inside a flood of prospectus updates, Vanguard quietly removed three portfolio managers—Daniel Shaykevich, Brian Quigley and David Van Ommeren—from six actively managed bond funds.

Van Ommeren is retiring after more than three decades at the firm. Shaykevich and Quigley remain at Vanguard and continue to manage other funds.

Quigley and Van Ommeren's departures affect only two Institutional funds, so the change most relevant to everyday Vanguard shareholders is that Shaykevich has stepped away from the Investment-Grade funds.
