Before I step away for a bit to welcome my baby girl, here’s a quick rundown on three pieces of Vanguard news—all of them, for once, good:

First, Vanguard is renaming Short-Term Federal (VSGBX) to Short-Term Government Securities Active. The new name is a little more intuitive, but there’s not much to see here. With the strategy, managers and expenses all remaining the same, this is only a new label.

Second, Vanguard has reversed course and made its account statements more useful.
