I haven’t seen the flight report from Vanguard’s first proxy voting pilot program, but the mutual fund giant will send a couple more planes down the runway in 2024.

In the first half of 2023, Vanguard ran a limited pilot program that gave mutual fund shareholders more control over how their votes were cast on the proxy statements of the companies that their funds held.

Vanguard is expanding the scope of its pilot program in 2024. Broadridge Financial Solutions will co-pilot the program as they did this past year.

Shareholders of three funds—S&P 500 Growth ETF (VOOG), ESG U.S. Stock ETF (ESGV) and Russell 1000 ETF (VONE)—will once again be invited to participate. This time, shareholders of MegaCap ETF (MGC) and Dividend Appreciation Index (VDADX or VIG) will also get an opportunity to climb aboard.
